Thinking about selling your home? We before you do consider the following low-cost projects you can do to potentially increase your homes value. Of course the main areas of a home that “sell homes” are kitchens and bathrooms but there are a few things you can do to boost value.

Paint

Yes having a fresh coat of paint in well traveled areas is a great low-cost way to show potential homebuyers that the property is well maintained. Especially if while you were living there you selected bold colors it’s time to tone the color down to cast and attract a wider buying audience. Aqua blue would not be my first choice!

Spruce up curb appeal

Give buyers a great first impression by have a good mix of green and drought friendly plants and rocks/mulch to dress up any front yard or walk way leading to the front door. Outdoor gardening supplies range from $25 dollars to $100 dollars depending on the type of material you select. Don’t forget out door lighting is always a big hit when installed properly.

Can’t afford new cabinets…

Painting the kitchen / bathroom cabinets is a great way to freshen up those areas. There are several steps you should take prior to paining over cabinets so make sure you take plenty of YouTube videos. You may not even have to sand down your cabinets depending on what they are made of prior to primer and paint. A gallon of pain runs about $30 dollars.
